We've shared a series of articles about how Intacct and NetSuite stack up. Full disclosure, of course: we are an Intacct reseller, but it's easy to sell a product that has proven to provide midsized businesses and even large enterprises with a financial management system that's scalable, accessible from anywhere, that provides real-time financial and operational reporting, beautiful and configurable dashboards...I could go on and on. Instead, I thought I'd show a list of points of comparison and how the products look head-to-head.

*So what do we mean when we say that NetSuite treats each entity as a separate data silo? Because NetSuite wasn't originally architected to be a sophisticated enterprise financial management system, the system's multi-entity consolidations are done virtually. They leave no audit trail and can't support adjusting entries. NetSuite doesn't provide operational reporting across entities. The system requires a separate setup for each entity and it requires separately managed customer, project, vendor, and item lists. NetSuite also doesn't support centralized payables or receivables.
†We last posted an article that dealt with NetSuite and Intacct's very different relationships with Salesforce.com. Here I'll just point out that NetSuite cannot integrate with Salesforce without purchasing a middleware product, whereas Intacct provides their own supported and innovated integration with Salesforce. Intacct is a Salesforce AppExchange partner, whereas NetSuite, as a CRM competitor, cannot partner directly with Salesforce. Intacct is a Dreamforce sponsor and participant, has access to the Salesforce.com developer community and resources, and has natively integrated Salesforce's Chatter collaboration tool. Intacct's integration and partnership with Salesforce guarantees future-proofed forward compatibility.
